Casual Chair

designed in a material driven process with ergonomic tests and 1:1 prototyping

We spent many hours in the workshop experimenting with materials to create an unconventional but easy lounge chair. For our design we used the advantages of strong felt, which is conventionally used as a carpet. The unique folding was inspired by duffle coats. The armrests can be fixed to support your arms, or you can loosen the side parts to give the chair a more casual look. By raising the side parts they become a cosy privacy wall, in which you can relax.

The Casual Chair won the Home24 global design challenge in December 2014 and is now being produced.
